Why did your mini-split stop cooling one room?
When a ductless mini-split fails, it rarely takes down the whole house, just the one room it serves, while everything else stays comfortable. Leave it alone, and that single-zone problem turns into a room nobody wants to use.
That's where Indoor Experts Heating & Air Conditioning comes in. As a Trane Comfort Specialist, the highest rating Trane gives a dealer, our technicians are trained specifically on ductless systems, tracing the cause behind an indoor unit's failure: low refrigerant, a burned-out fan motor, or a blocked drain line, instead of guessing at it.

What a failing mini-split looks like
A small mini-split fault rarely fixes itself, and Atlanta's summer only speeds it up. Catch it early, and it is usually one part or a quick cleaning. Wait, and it can turn into a dead room on a 95-degree afternoon. Here is what tells you it is time to call.
One room stays warm while the others are fine
That room's indoor unit has stopped cooling, usually due to low refrigerant or a worn fan motor that can't move the air.
Water dripping from the indoor unit on the wall
The drain line is clogged, so the water the unit pulls from the air drips inside instead of draining outside.
A blinking light or an error code on the unit or remote
The system's own sensor caught a fault and shut down to protect itself. The code tells us where to look.
Weak airflow, even when turned all the way up
A dirty filter or a grimy fan inside the indoor unit is choking the air it pushes out.
A musty or burning smell when it runs
Grime has built up inside the unit, or the wiring is overheating. Shut it off and call about a burning smell.
The outdoor unit runs, but the room never cools
The outdoor fan spins, but no cool air reaches the room; it's usually a refrigerant leak or a failing compressor.
Not sure if your mini split is worth repairing? Tell us what the system is doing: one warm room, a blinking light, water on the wall, and our technician will trace the fault to its source instead of guessing.
If a repair holds, we make it. If the unit is too old or too far gone, we say so and walk you through your options: Ductless Mini-Split Installation & Replacement, or a Heat Pump for year-round comfort.
What goes into a mini-split repair bill?
The price of a mini-split repair depends on which part failed and how far the trouble spread. Clearing a clogged drain line or replacing one worn part in a single indoor unit is a smaller job. Finding and sealing a refrigerant leak, or replacing a failed compressor outside, means more parts and labor, and on a system with several indoor units, one leak can take down more than one room.
Every repair starts with a written price before any work starts, agreed when you book and never added to afterward. If it climbs near the cost of a new system, we set both numbers side by side so the call stays yours, and Service Finance can break a larger bill into monthly payments.
Repair the mini-split, or replace it?
A single fault rarely means the whole system is finished. But a mini-split that keeps failing can cost you more in repairs than a new one would. We give you the straight read and let you decide. Use this as a rough guide for when a repair is the sound move and when replacing saves you money over the next few years.
| A repair usually makes sense when | Replacing is the smarter move when |
|---|---|
| The system is under about 10 years old and has run well | It is past 12 to 15 years and failing more each summer |
| One part failed, like a fan motor or a drain line | The compressor or coil goes, the costliest parts to replace |
| Only one indoor unit is affected and the rest still run | Several rooms are failing or the outdoor unit is worn out |
| The repair is a small share of a new system's price | Repair bills are creeping toward half the cost of replacing |
Why Atlanta homeowners call us for mini-split repairs
We repair every ductless brand, not just what we sell
We are a Trane dealer at heart, but ductless works a little differently. For mini-splits, we install two names, Trane and Mitsubishi, which is known for its ductless systems, plus RunTru, the value line Trane builds. What we install is one list. What we repair is every ductless brand out there. So whoever made the unit on your wall, we know it and we can fix it.
Ductless is its own skill, and we work on it every week
A mini-split is diagnosed differently from a central system. It has its own error codes and cools each room on its own. We read those codes and pin down the exact room, so you get the on-spot fix, not a guessed part that leaves it warm again.
A price you approve before we start
You get a written price before any work starts, confirmed for your approval and never added to the bill by surprise. You get the fix the system needs, never an upsell to move more equipment.
How a mini-split repair goes
Four steps, start to finish, no mystery to it.
You call, and we get you on the schedule
Tell us what the mini-split is doing and which room is affected. We put you on the day's route with the details our technician needs before the visit.
We diagnose it on-site
A technician checks the indoor unit, the outdoor unit, and the line between them, reads any error code, and shows you the fault. The diagnostic fee covers this and is settled up front.
You approve the price
The repair is weighed against a new system; the costs and the benefits are laid out in writing with a number attached. Nothing gets touched until you give the word.
We fix it and test it
Most repairs are done on that same visit. Before we leave, we run the affected room and check that it is cooling and draining the way it should, so you are not left wondering overnight.

How quickly can you get a ductless mini split repair?
Soon, and honest about when
A mini-split that quits in a room in Atlanta in July gets uncomfortable fast, especially when it's the bedroom. Reach us and you get a quick answer on when we can be there, not a voicemail and a maybe. Call or book online, and we tell you the soonest honest window so you can plan your day.
Can you come today?
Often, yes, especially if you catch us early in the day. A room stuck without cooling jumps ahead of routine visits on our schedule. If the day's already booked solid, the earliest realistic slot might be first thing tomorrow morning, and we won't sugarcoat it either way.
The quickest way to reach us
Dial (404) 913-5802 for an immediate answer on timing. Prefer handling it online instead? Book your visit there, and we'll lock in the closest available window for your schedule.
Where we fix mini-splits around Atlanta
Atlanta's where we're based, and most ductless repair calls come from the older, in-town neighborhoods where these systems carry the load: additions, finished attics, and bungalows that were never built with room for ductwork. No matter where a job falls on the route, every home gets the same crew, and the same pricing locked in before anything starts. Decatur is the only regular stop we make past city limits.
Don't see your street listed? Give us a call, we'll tell you whether it's in range or not.

AC repairWe’ve had unfortunate luck as our downstairs AC unit has had issues on multiple occasions where it stopped working and it’s only 4 years old. However, [the owner] and his staff have always promptly evaluated every issue and fixed so quickly. They are very professional and thorough while still getting the job done quickly. This company is fair with their pricing and trustworthy…

AC repairI had a really great experience with Indoor Experts. My A/C unit was not cooling the house very well. I called Indoor Experts because of their great online reviews. I met with [the owner] who quickly diagnosed the issue and proposed the solution. The repair cost was very reasonable. My A/C is working great now, and I would use this company again in a heart beat…

AC repairGreat customer service. Our unit is fairly new, so I was surprised when it died last night. I was able to call and get an appointment this evening, which was wonderful. [the owner] took one quick look at the unit, knew exactly how to fix it, and did so right away. The pricing was also very reasonable, and he didn't try to up sell anything (I can't stand pushy sales people)…
