How Much Can You Save with Georgia's Heat Pump Rebates?
These are the program’s maximum rebates. What you actually receive depends on your household income and the work your home needs. Reduce your energy bills with state-funded rebates designed to make an efficient home more affordable.
- Heat pump installation — up to $8,000
- Electrical wiring upgrades — up to $2,500
- Electrical panel upgrades — up to $4,000
- Combined eligible projects — up to $14,000 total per household
The $14,000 is the combined household cap, not an amount added on top of the others.
Do You Qualify for the Georgia Heat Pump Rebate?
Eligibility for low-income HVAC assistance in Georgia comes down to two things: your household income and the system you’re replacing. We’ll help you figure out both.
- 80% or less of your county's area median income (AMI) — the program can cover up to 100% of an eligible project, so some homeowners pay little to nothing out of pocket.
- Between 80% and 150% of AMI — it can cover up to 50%.
- Above 150% of AMI — not eligible for HEAR, but ask us about an affordable replacement through financing.
The rebate also depends on the system you’re replacing. It applies when your new ENERGY STAR-certified heat pump replaces a non-electric system — gas, propane, or oil. Replacing an existing electric system usually doesn’t qualify, and if you’re not sure what you have, that’s exactly what we’ll check for you.
